Lotte Group, a South Korean conglomerate with manufacturing, hospitality, and e-commerce operations that ranks as the fifth largest in the country, has announced its ambition to join forces with Polygon blockchain and Daehong Communications to establish a foothold on the global NFT market. On Monday, Lotte’s marketing division representatives confirmed this news through an official statement.
Lotte’s BellyGom NFT Collection, Previously on Klaytn, Will Be Rebranded on Polygon
BellyGom NFTs are digital collectibles based around the profile picture of a pink bear character with the same name. Lotte Homeshopping is embarking on a partnership to rebrand this collection as “BellyGom NFT Season 2,” offering holders exclusive benefits related to their products and services, such as hotel vouchers, discounts, and coupons for shopping – all powered by Klaytn network technology! Although progress is still being made in developing these rewards, there’s no set date yet for their release; stay tuned!
In a direct message to Forkast, a Polygon spokesperson unveiled details about the newly-formed partnership with Daehong. They explained that while there is mutual support for marketing efforts, it will be Daehong who runs all aspects of their NFT project – BellyGom. However, existing NFTs will be shifted onto Polygon’s platform.
Polygon Is the Third Largest NFT Platform
Over the past month, Polygon has skyrocketed to become the third-largest blockchain in terms of NFT sales, increasing by a whopping 260.33% to US$36.5 million, according to Cryptoslam.io’s data. Moreover, what makes this platform stand out is its compatibility with Ethereum – the second-biggest digital ledger – and allowing other chains to link and expand their reach even further!
Polygon has successfully established business relationships with leading international companies, including Starbucks, Adidas, and Prada. Moreover, South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission revealed in April 2022 that Lotte Group holds an estimated 121 trillion Korean won ($92.3 billion) worth of assets.
