Crypto Startup School is a 12-week accelerator program intended specifically for web3 companies. CSS includes industry expert lectures and mentorship, founder presentations, and exposure to the a16z network. Crypto Startup Academy was founded in February 2020 with the purpose of assisting developers in starting up new web3 projects. Crypto Startup School educated teams for seven weeks on the foundations of developing a web3 firm from the bottom up, including the underlying infrastructure, apps and business planning, operational best practices, and more.
Crypto Startup School’s Web3 Initiative is Gaining Momentum
The Crypto Startup School cohort’s 40 entrepreneurs went on to build some of the industry’s most successful startups, including Phantom, Notional Finance, Teller, Flashbots, Goldfinch, Afriex, and FanCraze. They have raised over $300 million in venture capital and created products that customers like. Those interested in developing web3 projects have viewed the program’s lecture series over 1 million times.
Even by technological standards, the industry has evolved significantly since then, but the tools required to construct a long-lasting web3 product remain inadequately defined and disseminated. This is especially true for new entrepreneurs from other industries who are drawn to the promise of web3 – a more open internet – but are unsure how to negotiate the landscape. For many years, accelerator programs have effectively provided this sort of launchpad in various IT areas. None, however, are suited to the special demands of web3 entrepreneurs, who require a new set of tools and resources as their businesses grow. It seems Crypto Startup School is a candidate to solve many problems in this area.
How will Crypto Startup School Work?
Applicants of Crypto Startup School will once again get hands-on coaching from experienced founders as they negotiate the early startup maze, in addition to financing. Participants will also collaborate with domain experts on the most important subjects, such as protocol design, legal & regulatory, go-to-market, and more. Finally, participants will be able to create their product alongside a limited group of fellow founders as well as the larger a16z network, offering a built-in community to help their idea take off.
